Use of Japanese script(Kanjis and Kanas)

• Write in Japanese script for and only for names, quotes, and other proper nouns that the readers may have an interest in searching for in their verbatim form.
  • Use kanjis and kanas for all the lines or other quote that came from voice actors or other people of interest originally in Japanese.
  • Use kanjis and kanas for the names of online accounts that are originally in Japanese.
  • Do not use kanjis and kanas for any term that has its own page on this wiki. Romanise the term and link it to its page.
  • Do not use kanjis and kanas for any term that is not treated as a proper noun on this wiki, such as “neta”, or “bouyomi”. Either Romanise them or translate them into English.
  • Do not use kanjis and kanas for any Japanese terms or names that are already known in the English-speaking world by their Romanised forms, such as names for famous Japanese figures, anime characters, brands, and other terms. Write them in their romanised forms and link to English articles explaining them if necessary.

Linking

• When a term that has its own page on this wiki is mentioned for the first time in an article, link the term to its page.
  • Link the term again in the rest of the article on an appropriate frequency. (e.g. once per section)
• When a relevant term, typically related to the context of the Cookie subculture(e.g. a term about the Niconico community or Touhou project) appears, link the term to an external source that provides explanation(e.g. Touhou wiki) if such a source is available.
• Link any video, image, article, or other such references to their original posts, if available. If the original post is unavailable but has any archive or backup, link to the backup source.

Grammar and Style

• Do not use any first or second person voices in the articles, except in quoted texts or articles.
• Do not use abbreviations(e.g. didn’t, can’t, I’ll) except in quotes.
• Unify the spelling(UK vs US) within each article.
• Use Oxford comma(Reu, Udzuki, and Hinase).
• When including an opinion, attribute it to the person or people that originally had it.
  • Since Cookie☆ involves participation of numerous anonymous figures and sources that are very difficult to trace, it is often possible that an opinion is described as being held by vague figures such as “many people” or “most people in the community”. Nevertheless, state the specific figures when they can be found.

General Style Guide

• Make sure not to use redundant phrases, such as "boom in growing popularity")
• Be careful not to overuse passive sentences. They are unnecessarily complicated and hides the critical subject of actions.
• Watch the use of verbs in general. Strong and simple verbs are better.
• Watch out when connecting by comparisons and conjunctions. "Suzu's voice" is better/worse than "that of Udzuki", not "Udzuki"
• Put quotation marks around any direct quotes.

Use of Names

Voice Dramas

• Except in their own pages, voice dramas are referred by their official abbreviations—formed over time by traditions—as displayed on the list of voice dramas page. (E.g. Cookie☆ OG, Cookie☆☆S2, Kussokuri☆, Spell Card☆).
• The voice dramas’ names are capitalised proper nouns, referred with the ☆ sign and without articles(the).

People, Characters

• For individuals who participated in a Cookie☆ voice drama, use his\her name as appeared on the credit of the relevant drama as the title of his\her article.

For people or characters who are not credited in a Cookie☆ voice drama, use the name by which the individual is most widely called as in the Cookie☆ community as the title of his/her article.

• In default, use romanised names of characters instead of the TDN forms(consonant-based tags). E.g. Use “Reu” instead of “RU” and “Udzuki” instead of “UDK”.
  • Exception: For characters whose full names would otherwise be the names of Touhou characters or other existing characters that do not belong to the Cookie☆ subculture, use their TDN names. E.g. Use “RMA” instead of “Rumia”.
• For any figure with Japanese name involved in the Cookie☆ community in some form, write his or her name in their original order(i.e. surname first, followed by personal name).
  • Add redirects from common consonant-based tags.
  • Omit 姉貴/兄貴 and other types of honourifics from the names of the characters. Instead, tag the page with Category:Aneki/Category:Aniki or corresponding hepburn romanisation of the honorific.

Touhou Characters

• For the first time referring to a Touhou character in a page, write down the character’s full name and add a link to the Touhou wiki page. For the rest of the article, use only the first name.
• In the “In Voice Drama” section of a cookie character, refer to the characters of the voice dramas in their Touhou names, but link each character to the voice actor or Cookie character’s page, if there is one.

Ambiguities

• Check Terms#Potentially Ambiguous Terms for how to better clarify terms that may cause confusions and ambiguities.

Article Format: General

General Rules

• When possible, incorporate contents listed as miscellaneous netas in other sources(especially the Japanese wiki) into one of the more organised sections such as "character" or "history".
• It is not necessary to link a character or other term to the respective page every single time. A frequency of approximately one link per section when the term first appears there is enough.

External Links

Include the external links by putting {{External|jp-at=page name|zh=page name|es=page name|jpww=page name}} in the article source.

• "jp-at=" links to the Cookie atwiki page, one of the two Japanese Cookie wikis. Its inclusion is not necessary.
• "jpww=" links to the Cookie wikiwiki page, one of the two Japanese Cookie wikis. Its inclusion is necessary.
• "zh=" links to the older Chinese Cookie wiki at fandom. Its inclusion is necessary.
• "es=" links to the Spanish Cookie wiki. Its including is necessary only if the page has a Spanish equivalent.

Article Format: Characters

Infobox

Use Template:InfoboxCookieCharacter for character articles. Follow the rules stated in this section only.

Parametres to be filled include:

• 1.0 / Title: Use the full name of the character/person as featured on the JP wikiwiki page.
• 1.1 / Cover Image: Use an appropriate and recognisation fictional image of the character/person. Credit the image if necessary.
• 2.0 / Common Name: Refer to the "通称" section of the character's infobox on wikiwiki.
• 2.2 / Other names: Refer to the "別名" section of the character's infobox on wikiwiki.
• 3.0 / Actor Name: Include only if the character is not entirely identified with a real life person but is voiced by one, such as the case of DIYUSI being voiced by Hinase.
• 3.2 / Social Media: Refer to any social media accounts documented on wikiwiki. Only recently active accounts need to be included.
• 4.1 / Birthday: Refer to this page. Sample date format: "5 Aug, 1992".
• 4.3 / Current Status: Describe the person's current status based on his/her social media activity. Possible statuses include:
  • Active: The person showed any activity online under consistent identity in the recent two months.
    • Active under other identity: The person is still active, but he/she is under another name and does not openly admit any relationship with the identity recorded on Cookie wiki.
  • Inactive: The person's social media accounts have not seen any activities for the recent months.
  • Disappeared: The person is no longer active under this identity and has deleted/deactivated/lost all the accounts of that name.
  • Retired: The person made an open statement about cessation of activity before going inactive.
• .4.4 / Character Type: Describe any role the person played in any voice drama under the format of "VD abbrieviated name: Character Name". E.g. "Cookie☆OG: Marisa Kirisame".

Article

Real Person with a Matching Cookie Character(E.g. Udzuki)

• The article will usually consist of four sections:
  • Introduction: a brief introduction of the person’s significance in Cookie and what the community knows him/her for.
  • Real-life History: a summary of the experiences of this person. Include all informations that are considered significant for Cookie, especially context of his/her participation in a respective voice drama and interactions with the community.
    • In a subsection of this section at its beginning, summarise the experience of the character in the original voice drama/s, as well as all relevant lines, if the person is a voice actor.
  • In Derived Works: a section that introduces how the person has been developed as a character in derived creations of Cookie. Include, when available, his/her usual appearance, personalities, interactions with other characters, famous BB materials, and all other relevant information. Cite links of videos, artworks, and all other sources.
  • Other Netas: List and explain netas and terms that do not fit well into any of the categories above. Cite sources when available.

• The section format should not be rigorous. Variations are allowed depending on the editor's decision.
• For individuals who played multiple characters:
  • If the person played more than two characters in voice dramas, but the played characters are not treated as different people by the community, do not distinguish the characters outside of the voice drama section and introduce the person in one article.
  • If another character the person played has appeared in enough derived contents as a separate character, and there is enough information to write a separate page, write a separate page for that character.

Categorisation

• All characters/persons will have the Category:Characters category.
• If the person is a voice actor/actress in any Cookie voice drama, include Category:Actors.
• If the person is the organiser of any Cookie voice drama, include Category:Organisers.
• If the character's designs and characteristics are mostly based on completely fictional creations by the community, instead of being identified with a real life person, include Category:Original Character.
• Include the category for any Touhou character the person has ever voiced or is associated with, such as Category:Hakurei Reimu or Category:Kirisame Marisa.
• Include the voice drama characters category under the format of "VD Name/Characters". E.g. Category:Cookie☆OG/Characters.
• Include the category of any groups the character is included in, such as Category:RIM Family.
